Basic SEO optimization of a cosmetics store
How we prepared BARHAT LASHES for active promotion

Initial situation
Empty SEO tags and messy snippets
E-commerce projects often launch with minimal attention to SEO settings. BARHAT LASHES – a specialized online store of materials for eyelash extensions, lamination and tinting of lashes and brows – had a clear website structure, but critical SEO elements were disorganized and unoptimized. In this case study we show how systematic basic optimization lays a solid foundation for promotion in the highly competitive beauty niche.
BARHAT LASHES had a working website with dozens of categories and hundreds of products. However, in terms of SEO there were critical gaps that blocked its way into search. Most pages had missing or poor-quality Title and Description tags. Even when the website did appear in search, the snippets (the description under the link) were disorganized and did not attract clicks. Search engines had no clear information about the content.
The task for LightSEO
Carry out proper basic SEO optimization BEFORE launching performance advertising. This is critical, because:
- Optimized Title and Description tags affect CTR in Google Ads and in organic search
- Correct SEO templates provide the base for future organic promotion
- Google Analytics has to be active to track the results of advertising and SEO at the same time
- Without this foundation, even paid advertising will have little effect
What we did: 5 key stages
From audit to automation: how to prepare a website for promotion in 5 days
1. Audit and analysis of the current state
Day one: a detailed analysis of all website pages, a study of the product range structure and search demand.
- Title and Description analyzed on all pages
- Critical SEO problems blocking indexing identified
- An optimization roadmap created
2. Home page optimization
The home page is the first point of contact between search engines and the store. We rewrote all SEO tags with the snippet limits in mind.
- Title (56 characters): maximum information, minimum characters
- Description (160 characters): persuasive, with a keyword and a CTA
- H1: unique, meaningful and easy for the user to read.
3. Creating SEO templates for automation
This was the key moment: instead of optimizing every page by hand, we created a system of templates that generates meta tags automatically.
- Additional SEO templates created for category pages
- Product templates set up with dynamic generation of Title and Description
- All new pages automatically get optimized SEO tags
4. Website structure optimization
Website architecture affects how search engines crawl and index it.
- H1 headings added to all categories and products
- Navigation structure revised for better indexing
- Sitemap set up for efficient crawling
5. Technical settings and analytics
Google Analytics and Google Search Console are the eyes and ears of an SEO specialist.
- Google Analytics connected (it had been created but was not active)
- Reports set up to monitor traffic and conversions
- Sitemap submitted to Google Search Console for indexing the website.
Optimization results: BEFORE and AFTER
Let's look at specific examples of optimization on the website's pages:
Previously, the Title and Description looked technical and did not sell: the snippet showed "0 products", the phrase "Buy Home" looked incorrect and templated, and too few characters were used, so the potential of the search results was not realized. After the changes, the metadata became complete in length, structured, commercially attractive and relevant to key queries, which has a positive effect on CTR.

Previously, the Title with the emphasis on the key phrase "Buy PAINT" was too general and irrelevant, because wall paint dominates the search results for that query. This created a risk of wrong targeting when launching Performance Max ads and of impressions to a non-target audience. After the changes, the clarification "for brows and lashes" was added, which increases relevance accuracy, reduces the risk of low-quality traffic and provides more accurate signals for Google Ads algorithms.

Previously, the Title was too general ("Lashes") and short: it did not specify the product type and could attract non-target traffic, while the Description had a templated structure with technical elements and no clear benefits. After the changes, the clarification "for extensions" was added, which increases relevance to search queries and the accuracy of ad targeting, and the Description became more detailed, commercial and benefit-oriented, which has a positive effect on CTR and traffic quality.
