Keyword clustering: why it matters and how it works
A thousand queries does not mean a thousand pages. Clustering shows which phrases can be promoted with a single page and which need separate ones.
3–5
shared sites in the top results
The principle
How to tell that queries belong to one cluster
By SERP overlap. If the same sites rank at the top for two queries, the search engine treats them as one topic.
Word similarity does not decide. "Cheap sofas" and "inexpensive sofas" are one cluster. "Sofas" and "office sofas" can be different ones.
One cluster – one page. Making two pages for one cluster means competing with yourself.

What clustering gives you
🗂
Catalog structure
Each cluster is a candidate for a category, a filter or a landing page.
🏷
A basis for meta tags
The main query of the cluster goes into the Title, the rest go into the text and subheadings.
⚖️
Protection against cannibalization
You do not create two pages for the same topic.
In practice
