Copying supplier descriptions: where it leads
The supplier's price list already contains descriptions – the temptation to upload them as they are is huge. The problem is that fifty other stores did exactly the same.

solution – rewrite the bestsellers
Consequences
What happens to copies
The page has no advantage. A search engine has no reason to show you specifically if the content is identical to dozens of others.
No answers to the buyer's questions. Manufacturer descriptions are usually promotional or purely technical – and they leave out who the product suits.
Risk of claims. In some niches texts and photos are protected, and copying can end with a letter from the rights holder.

🚀
At launch
Uploading supplier descriptions is better than leaving product cards empty. But it is a temporary solution.
📦
Long tail
For items that sell once a year, rewriting the text makes no economic sense.
🔧
Technical data
Copying specifications is fine – they are factual data, with no creative writing involved.
Plan
What to do instead
Start with twenty bestselling items. They bring the main share of sales – they are the ones that need unique text.
Add your own section to someone else's description. "Our experience", "who it suits", "what to buy with it" – even two paragraphs make the page unique.
Use customer questions. What people ask most often in chat is ready-made material for a description.
