Price on the product page: show it or "ask for price"

"Ask for price" seems like a way to start a conversation with a customer. In reality it is a way to start nothing: the buyer simply opens the next website.

Reality

What happens without a price

The buyer does not write to "ask". They go back to the search results and open the next store that shows a price.
The product stays out of ads. Shopping ads require a price in the feed – without it, the item is simply not shown.
The page ranks worse. A commercial page without a price looks incomplete to search engines as well.

Solutions

What to do when the price varies

📉

Show "from"

The minimum price for the basic configuration – the buyer understands the price range and is not scared off.

🧮

Calculator

For products priced by size or volume – the calculation right on the product page.

📄

Commercial proposal request instead of a cart

For B2B and project sales – a "get a proposal" button with briefly described terms.

What else matters

The price must match the feed. A mismatch between the website and Shopping ads is one of the common reasons for Merchant Center suspensions.
An old price only if it really existed. A made-up crossed-out price means both a risk of penalties and lost trust.
Installment payments next to the price. For expensive products this noticeably affects the decision.
Some products have no prices and do not show up in ads?

We will work out how to show prices for complex items and bring the feed in line with the website.
