Product reviews: how to get them and why they matter

A review from another buyer is more convincing than any text the store writes. Reviews rarely appear on their own – you have to ask for them, and do it systematically.

Why

What reviews give a store

They remove doubts. Especially for expensive and complex products, where the buyer is afraid of making a mistake.
They add unique content. Review text is buyers' natural wording, and it works for search.
They show stars in search results. With structured data markup, the Google snippet gets a rating – and the click-through rate grows.
They give you feedback. You see real problems with a product or delivery before they become widespread.

How to collect

Methods that work

✉️

Post-delivery e-mail

A few days after the order arrives, with a direct link to the review form.

💬

Messenger message

Works better than e-mail if you have already talked to the customer there.

🎁

Bonus for a review

A discount on the next purchase. Thank customers for their time and never pay for a rating.

📱

QR code in the parcel

A thank-you card with a code that leads to the review page – a simple and cheap mechanism.

Key points

Rules for working with reviews

Do not make them up. Fake reviews give themselves away by their style, and they destroy trust faster than having no reviews at all.
Do not delete negative reviews. A catalog with nothing but five-star ratings looks suspicious. A reply to a negative review shows your service better than any text.
Reply publicly. These replies are read by people who have not bought yet – and your reply is addressed to them.
