Integration with LiqPay for a website and online store
Integration with LiqPay lets you accept payment by card and by other methods available under your contract right from the online store cart. The buyer pays on the service's page, and the website receives a confirmed response and marks the order as paid on its own. The solution works for stores, online services and paid services. Access keys are stored on the server, and we check the service's terms before we start.
- a payment button with the amount and order number;
- a signed payment request with your keys;
- the buyer returns to the website with a result page;
- a server notification about the payment status;
- automatic change of the order status to paid;
- tracking of errors and repeat payment attempts.
Integration with LiqPay: how it works for the store and the buyer
Many Ukrainian buyers know LiqPay: they see the payment page, enter their card details or choose another available method and return to the store within a minute. That is why integration with LiqPay for an online store helps the buyer trust the payment at the last step of checkout, when they decide whether to complete the order.
For the website owner, automatic accounting matters. The query connect LiqPay to a website usually means the wish for orders to move to the paid status on their own, so the manager doesn't check every payment in the account.
What integration with LiqPay includes
- building the payment request from the amount, currency, description and order number;
- signing the request with a private key stored on the server;
- return pages for successful and failed payments;
- receiving the server notification and verifying its signature;
- changing the order status and an e-mail to the buyer about the payment;
- protection against processing the same payment twice;
- tracking refunds, if your scenario includes them.
The payment methods on the service's page depend on the contract. PrivatBank installment payments are connected separately; on Horoshop they are built in.
How the LiqPay connection works
First you register with the service and pass the verification it requires of businesses; we tell you what is usually requested: a description of your business, pages with delivery, payment and return terms, contact details. When the account is ready, you securely send us the public and private keys. For Horoshop we first check whether the service is available among the platform's online payment options; on WordPress and a custom website we connect a module or the API. The final stage is a trial payment in test mode, if the service provides one, and for a small real amount.
Cost of integration with LiqPay
We calculate the price of the work after a free consultation and a review of your website. It depends on the platform, the number of currencies and the payment methods. Payment fees and payout times are set by the contract with the service, and we check the LiqPay terms against the current ones before work starts; legal requirements apply. For a new store, launch starts from $500, see online store development and turnkey ready-made stores. You can book a consultation through the Contacts page.
Questions and answers
Do I need to be a sole proprietor (FOP) or a company for LiqPay?
Seller requirements are set by the service and current legislation. It is best to confirm this with LiqPay and your accountant before work starts.
What is a server notification about a payment?
It is a request from the service to your website's address with a signed response about the status. The website verifies the signature and changes the order status without the buyer's involvement.
What happens if the buyer closes the page after paying?
The server notification updates the status, so the order becomes paid even when the buyer doesn't return to the website.
Can payment be tested before launch?
Yes, we make a trial payment within the service's options and check that the amount, number and status of the order match.
