Moving a store from Shopify to Horoshop

Moving a store from Shopify to Horoshop moves the store from an international subscription to a Ukrainian platform where Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta, installment payments and feeds for Rozetka and Google Shopping are connected out of the box. The catalog, texts and page URLs move over according to a mapping of old and new URLs.

  • products with prices, SKUs and stock, variants and product images from the Shopify CSV export;
  • collections are recreated as catalog sections in the Horoshop admin panel;
  • options and variants become Horoshop product variants;
  • the /products/…, /collections/… and /pages/… URLs get 301 redirects;
  • the domain stays yours, and on the switch day only the DNS records change;
  • we replace Shopify apps with Horoshop's built-in features.

How the move from Shopify to Horoshop works

Owners who search for moving a store from Shopify to Horoshop usually weigh the cost of the subscription with paid apps against the convenience for Ukrainian buyers. Shopify lets you export a CSV with products, customers and orders from the admin panel, so the data comes out without access to the database.

The URL structure in Shopify is standard: /products/name for products, /collections/name for collections, /pages/name for pages and /blogs/… for articles. The Horoshop URL format is set up by the platform support on request, so we agree on the URL formula in advance and add manual redirects for the old Shopify URLs.

What we move from Shopify and what we rebuild

  • products with SKUs, prices, stock and descriptions – via import from Excel after converting the CSV;
  • we recreate collections as catalog sections by hand in the admin panel, because the import does not create sections;
  • product variants (size, color) become Horoshop product variants;
  • meta tags, image alt texts and blog pages;
  • Shopify themes and apps stay behind: we build the design in the Horoshop editor;
  • we set up coupons and promotions again with the built-in discount tools.

Shopify outputs customers and orders as spreadsheets, and we keep these files in an archive for you. Customer accounts are restored via registration or password recovery on the new website.

How we work and what we need from you

  1. audit: subscription, apps, collections, pages with traffic;
  2. URL map and approval of the URL format;
  3. sections, import, filters, SEO templates;
  4. payments, delivery by Nova Poshta, feeds, analytics and pixels;
  5. a test order and DNS switch.

We need access to the Shopify admin panel or the exported CSV files, access to the domain (registrar or DNS), Search Console and Analytics. The timeline depends on the number of products and the apps that have to be replaced, and we name it after the audit. You cancel the Shopify subscription after a successful launch.

Cost of migration from Shopify and terms

We estimate the cost after a free consultation and an audit, fix it in the contract and keep it unchanged during the work. The Horoshop plan is paid separately, and the domain and admin panel belong to you. The full list of stages is on the "Moving a store to the Horoshop platform" page, feeds for marketplaces and ads are described on the Google Shopping page, and you can ask questions via contacts.

Questions and answers

Will the store stop during the move?

The Shopify store keeps accepting orders while Horoshop is being built separately. We switch the DNS after a test order.

Do I need to change the domain?

No, the domain stays yours. Only the DNS records change, and the store's address in search stays the same.

What happens to the collection and product URLs?

Each collection gets a section page, and the old URL leads to it via a redirect. The same rule applies to products: a /products/… URL points to the new product card.

Will you transfer orders and customers?

Shopify outputs them as spreadsheets, so the history is kept in an archive. Whether to upload it to the new store is decided during the audit, based on the platform's capabilities.
